As a result of support from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, the Invictus Games Foundation is seeking a Programme Manager to directly support the Grants and Programmes Director in the identification, selection, management and evaluation of international projects and programmes funded through the Invictus: Endeavours Grants Programme. Our aim is to promote opportunities for WIS engagement in sports recovery, adventurous challenge and outdoor pursuit across a spectrum of accessibility that support recovery and onward rehabilitation.

In line with the grant, the role is offered as a fixed term two year contract for 4 days per week. We aim to provide this as an opportunity to recruit from the Wounded, Injured and Sick community and all applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Invictus Games Foundation as the Invictus: Endeavours Grants Manager. This is a key role in helping us to support sports recovery activities that inspire, improve and influence recovery and onward rehabilitation across the Invictus Community of Nations.

Following the success of the Invictus Games in London 2014, the Invictus Games Foundation was established.  The Foundation is the governing body of the Invictus Games overseeing their planning and delivery which are about to enter their fifth iteration in The Hague in April 2022 with 20 participating nations. But we are more than just the Games.

Our mission is to inspire, improve and influence the recovery and rehabilitation of the Wounded, Injured and Sick (“WIS”) service personnel through sport and adventurous challenge and we action this mission within these three defined pillars:

We use the Invictus Games, to inspire recovery and demonstrate the resilience of the Invictus community.

We improve lives through sports recovery and adventurous challenge and build an international active support network that continues to serve.

We share best practice and collaborate to influence research and knowledge around trauma recovery, rehabilitation and the power of sport.

You will be part of a small team including the Associate Director: WIS Engagement, WIS Liaison Officer and Grants Manager led by the Grants and Programmes Director.  You will form part of a wider Executive Team that is driven, ambitious and entrepreneurial, and join a movement with purpose and power who share a belief in the power of sport to change lives. The Invictus: Endeavours Programme Manager will be the principal point of contact for international enquiries regarding accessing grant funding and will be responsible for leading the assessment in suitability and required due diligence in order to generate proposals to the Programmes Advisory Board.

The Invictus: Endeavours Programme Manager will be the principal point of contact for endeavour leads in order to assist them in achieving success through leveraging support, encouraging collaboration and sharing best practice.  The Programme Manager will liaise with the Associate Director: WIS Engagement and the Invictus Community Liaison Officer in order to ensure the details of the endeavour are communicated and the activity fully populated with suitable candidates and the Communications Director to ensure that the impact of the Endeavours is more widely shared.

Previous Invictus Games experience is not a requirement but a successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience of, or an understanding of opportunities available to those undertaking a recovery journey.

As a secondary duty, the Invictus: Endeavours Programme Manager will be required to provide elements of administrative support to the Grants and Programmes Director.
