WRVS Benevolent Trust
We are part of the WRVS family of charities, the Benevolent Trust is there to provide grants for WRVS Services Welfare and Royal Voluntary Service staff and volunteers, past and present, who find themselves in difficulties.
The original Women’s Voluntary Service (WVS) was formed in 1938 to provide support on the home front to the military, and undertook a myriad of duties throughout the UK, at its peak having over 1 million women volunteers. Lady Stella Reading is the founder of our family of charities and we work very closely together as siblings of the same founding mother. The charities have always had a very close relationship with the military and is proud to be able to make a contribution to the support of both past and present serving military personnel.
We work closely with WRVS Services Welfare to ensure that their staff, who are located in a large number of military establishments, offering support and pastoral care to serving military personnel, have any support they need should they experience difficulties or financial worry. Thus, helping them to continue to provide the valuable service they provide to the military.
