On Wednesday 8 July 2020 Rear Admiral Mike Kimmons CB, handed over as the Chairman of the Victory Services Club having been in the role for four years and a trustee for twelve years. During his time as chairman Rear Admiral Kimmons oversaw a considerable amount of refurbishment work which significantly improved the Club’s bedrooms, dining facilities, event spaces and accessibility. Additionally, membership increased by 4,000 to the 64,000 members the Club now has.
The new chairman is Major General Seumas Kerr CBE, who has been a trustee of the Club for four years. In taking on this role Major General Kerr said that
“I am delighted to have been appointed to the role of Chairman of the Victory Services Club, and to be able to build on the excellent work of my predecessor. The Club is in extremely good condition, has strong support from our membership and has an excellent record of delivering our charitable objectives. With the club now re-opened after lockdown, and providing a Covid-19 safe and compliant offer, we look forward to seeing the return of many members to use our impressive facilities and enjoy the wonderful service from the staff. Although we are still unable to re-open our events and conference facilities, the Club is fully prepared to do so, when allowed. I look forward to working with the military charities and the Armed Forces Community to see how the Victory Services Club will be able to provide support in the future”.
