Read moreOn August Bank Holiday a robust group of cyclists peddled some 85 miles from Shirebrook to Skegness to raise funds for both a local Shirebrook charity and F4H.
Read moreF4H recently reached a tremendous milestone: Course 100 was delivered at The Brathay Trust in the Lake District.
Read moreFantastic news! Huge thanks to the Royal British Legion. Just received, significant funding support to help towards our charity’s operational costs for another year. (Those expenses that are vital for a charity to operate but understandably can be more difficult to raise). This will allow us that extra breathing space to focus on what we do best: offering support to that small number of service leavers and veterans (and their partners/spouses) who may find transition somewhat challenging.
Read moreOur best yet! The largest number of former delegates travelling back to Brathay, allowing almost all of the refreshments stands to be staffed by F4H volunteers (5 of 7). As well as taking part in reinforcement and revision packages: #thejourneycontinues. Three former delegates ‘tabbed’ the marathon and 4 ran it, the remainder (and members of their family) staffed the stands. Great funding raised, thank you all. The second annual stone balancing competition fiercely contested – 3 joint winners! The long weekend enjoyed by all.
Read moreSome excellent news recently confirmed. Both The Soldiers’ Charity and the RAF Benevolent Fund have agreed continued funding support to our charity. The former with a huge boost to army veterans’ attendance costs for the coming year; the latter with fantastic, always-welcome help towards our operational costs. Many thanks to both organisations for their backing that enables us to offer our personal change programme to the minority of leavers and veterans who may find their transition from the military traumatic or challenging.
Read moreOn Tuesday evening at The Cavalry and Guards Club in Piccadilly, F4H held its inaugural forum on leadership. Speakers included Roger Davis (Chairman F4H, Former Head of Barclays UK), General Sir Nick Parker (Former Commander in Chief, British Army Land Forces), Evelyn Bourke (Group CEO BUPA), and Anton Oliver (Former Captain of the All Blacks).
Read moreHuge thanks to the Veterans’ Foundation for their recent funding support. A fantastic amount to help us with those critical things that allow a charity to operate: funding to cover bespoke training for our volunteers, IT equipment to replace our current holdings that are coal-fired, and PR/merchandising apparatus allowing us to reach out to a wider audience – prospective delegates and like-minded organisations – letting people know what we deliver.
Read moreJust when you thought last year’s celebrations were all over and forgotten… here is a round-up of what Future for Heroes achieved in 2017.
129 individuals attended our 10 courses, 74% army, 14% RAF, 5% RN and 7% welfare organisation representatives/training support. Of which 82% were veterans, 10% serving and 8% partners.
The courses take place in The Lake District with The Brathay Trust. Affording among other attributes peace, tranquility and serenity.
Read moreFuture for Heroes is delighted to welcome 2 additional Trustees to the charity, Sean Taylor and Christian Yates (www.f4h.org.uk/about-us/trustees). Both completed earlier careers in the army and are now hugely successful in The City with links to numerous financial corporations and institutes. Both have widespread experience within the military charity arena being involved with a number of such organisations. Miramar Executive Search, a company based in Richmond, was instrumental in initially approaching Christian and Sean on our behalf.
