The NFA have just completed a whirlwind couple of weeks at Olympia as the Ideal Home Show’s Official Charity Partner. Nominated for the role by the fabulous Annie Riley of the Swingtime Sweethearts, we were joined by nearly 300 volunteers from 17th March – 2nd April who between them collected a phenomenal £17,318.35! The whole team worked tirelessly and demonstrated just how lucky the NFA are to have such loyal supporters and friends.

“I have come away feeling that whilst learning new skills and overcoming personal obstacles, I have also in a small way helped others & they in turn have done like wise. Friendships have been made & bonds forged to the extent that we have now organised a trip of our own, all with a military theme, as this is and always will be our safe area.”

Split into two groups, week one will include Hari Budha Magar, a former Gurkha who is attempting to become the first above-knee, double amputee to summit Mt Everest. It will also include two sets of twins; two sisters from the Royal Artillery and two brothers from the RAF Regiment and Royal Marines.

The Not Forgotten Association is extending its TV provision programme by offering tablets to a younger cohort of veteran beneficiary who is digitally isolated.
To qualify for a tablet, an individual must be an eligible NFA veteran beneficiary (any former serviceman or woman with a disability or illness).

Read moreThe annual Not Forgotten Association Christmas Party at St. James’s Palace signals the start of the festive season. It almost feels as though the State Apartments’ opulent, red and gold setting was designed specifically for Christmas celebrations, as it never fails to put everyone is a mood of great cheer and merriment. Those who visit leave feeling joyful with lasting memories made of a wonderful and very special afternoon.
This year was no exception as nearly 300 guests were hosted by HRH The Duchess of Gloucester, who took a considerable amount of time to meet and talk with many of those in attendance.
Read moreThe NFA were thrilled to receive a grant of £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund. Their funding will help us continue to entertain veterans and service personnel throughout the Christmas period with our program of Christmas lunches. Each year, the NFA organises 8 Christmas lunches throughout the country. These Christmas events are designed to give a boost to veterans of all ages, to provide companionship with like-minded people, to meet old friends and to make new acquaintances.
Read moreBetween 19th-29th November, 17 veterans and serving personnel trekked 75 miles from Port San Carlos to Port Stanley. Organised by The Not Forgotten Association to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Falklands War, and partly funded by The Royal Marines Charity, the trip was the NFA’s flagship action challenge for 2017. The group consisted of 8 members of SAMA82, all veterans of the Falklands War, a further 7 veterans of various conflicts – including Northern Ireland, Aden, Oman, Iraq and Afghanistan – and 2 injured serving personnel from the Royal Marines and The Household Cavalry.
