Automatic disqualification rules for charity trustees and charity senior positions

Guidance for individuals about automatic disqualification rules, what to do if you become disqualified and how to apply for a waiver.

This guidance is for individuals who want to find out if, and how the automatic disqualification rules apply to them. We have produced separate guidance for charities to help them prepare for the new rules.

The charity guidance also includes sample declarations that can be used for relevant senior manager and charity trustee positions.

All change at the top for the Women’s Royal Naval Service Benevolent Trust

At our Annual General Meeting we said farewell to Commander Andrea Crook RN, our Chairman of 7 years and welcomed our Vice Chairman Commander Heather Rimmer RN to the role of Chairman. We wish Andrea well with her forthcoming studies and thank her for her great contribution to the Trust and her additional support for the WRNS100 Project.

Heather will be joined by our new Vice Chairman, Commander Catherine Jordan RN who has been a Trustee for a year and we wish our new team good luck and every success.

Carly Paoli to perform at the Soldiering On Awards!

Soldiering On Awards are delighted to announce that the internationally acclaimed classical singer Carly Paoli will be performing on Awards night!

We are delighted that Carly will be performing her new song ‘Liberty’ for the first time at the Soldiering On Awards. In addition to recognising all of our amazing Finalists, ‘Liberty’ will be sung as a special tribute in this anniversary year for RAF 100.

Gwynedd blind veteran Billy nominated for prestigious Soldiering On Award

A blind veteran from Gwynedd has been nominated for a prestigious Soldiering On Award for his work with Blind Veterans UK, the national charity for blind and vision-impaired ex-Service men and women, from whom he also receives support.

Billy Baxter, 54, is the charity’s Rehabilitation and Liaison Officer in its training and rehabilitation centre in Llandudno. His role sees him mentor and motivate the charity’s beneficiaries. Regarding his nomination, Billy says: “It’s a great honour to be recognised in the Inspiration Award category among my fellow nominees, who themselves have done some truly extraordinary work.”
