Colour Sergeant Martin Wilson was serving in Afghanistan with 2 Para in 2011 when he was shot in the head. Due to the extent of his injuries, Martin had to learn to read, write and talk again, showing remarkable determination and bravery. Several service charities have supported him during his recovery, but Martin will say that the NFA has stood closest to him throughout and has given him a purpose.
Read moreThis 10-mile walk through the beautiful Hampshire countryside is taking place on Saturday 13th May at Upper Wield near Alresford to raise funds for The Not Forgotten Association. The walk gets under way at 9.30am, refreshments will be available at the start and at halfway and a hog roast will be served at the finish. Rowland Edwards, 93 and from Stafford, was presented with the prestigious honour by Monsieur Jean-Claude Lafontaine from the French Consulate in a special ceremony at the National Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire. The ceremony, which was organised by military charity Blind Veterans UK, was attended by Rowland’s family as well as representatives from the charity.

The £43,000 grant to the Community Empowerment and Support Initiatives (CESI)-UK project will benefit approximately 200 ex-British Gurkhas over the age of 60.
This year-long community support project aims to provide a customised support programme to address isolation and loneliness issues as well as the health and wellbeing needs of Nepalese people in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Read moreThis week The Not Forgotten Association is hosting a skiing holiday in La Plagne, France for 14 injured veterans drawn from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The group includes four amputees and represents a wide range of Army Regiments and the RAF. Help for Heroes, Stoll and Blesma have all nominated guests, most of whom have not taken part in an NFA activity or event previously.
