Finding your home on Civvy Street: research coming soon!

Housing Options Scotland (HOS) is a housing charity with almost 20 years of experience helping disabled people find the right house in the right place. In 2012 the organisation created a pilot project called “Military Matters” which aimed to give housing advice and support to disabled veterans in Scotland, or those who wished to return or relocate to Scotland. Through the life of the Military Matters project, HOS has also carried out housing briefs, created publications and given advice and support to all veterans, those in transition and those currently serving in the Armed Forces.

AFF explores families’ experience of Scottish posting

The Army Families Federation (AFF) has published the results of their most recent survey, which focussed specifically on families posted to Scotland.

The feedback they’ve received from Army families in Scotland has helped the charity to learn more about Army family life there, and will be used to help shape their upcoming Scotland roadshow in Kinloss on 23 March.

Since the closure of Braeholm, Aggie’s has been working with the executive Team at HMNB Clyde and the local Chaplaincy, to figure out how we will continue to help the local naval community. We are pleased to launch our newest project, ‘Welcome to Scotland’.

‘Welcome to Scotland’ is a project that provides support and advice for families who are deciding to relocate to Scotland after the serving member has been assigned to the area.

Recruit for Spouses Launches West of Scotland Office

A force for change in the workplace, Recruit for Spouses (RfS) are celebrating the launch of their West of Scotland office, based in Helensburgh.

RfS have seized the opportunity to further include military spouses in Scotland into their mission to push back the barriers facing them, championing their call for equal weighting in the employment stakes and giving cause for celebration within both the local business and military communities.

The Army Families Federation (AFF) is calling on Army families in Scotland to take part in their latest survey to help inform them about the issues families face and any unique circumstances a Scottish posting poses.

Families’ feedback will help to shape the charity’s upcoming Scotland roadshow, which takes place on 23 March in Kinloss.
