The Seafarers’ Charity, the largest independent grant funder of maritime welfare services, has welcomed Government’s announcement of a new Seafarers’ Charter but wants more to be done to address work patterns that cause fatigue and reduce safety at sea.

A coalition of UK-based organisations concerned about seafarers’ welfare have come together to address abuse, bullying, harassment, discrimination, and violence at sea.

In another key moment to mark Maritime Safety Week, and its commitment to supporting Safer Working Lives at Sea, The Seafarers’ Charity has announced sponsorship of a meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Fisheries meeting – focused on fishing safety.

To mark the start of Maritime Safety Week, The Seafarers’ Charity are delighted to announce they are funding five episodes of a new maritime safety podcast “Sea Views”.

The Seafarers’ Charity, a significant funder of maritime safety and welfare initiatives, is once again celebrating Maritime Safety Week (3-7 July) with a safety drill competition and is calling on everyone who works at sea to get involved by practising and improving their crew muster drill.

The Seafarers’ Charity is delighted to announce a new collaboration with The Nautical Institute to develop a new range of training courses aimed at improving the leadership and management skills of seafarers and those working ashore.
