OA Sponsors RAF Officers in Extreme New Zealand Race

RAF Officers will compete in one of the toughest adventure races in the world.

Four RAF Officers have entered the GODZone Adventure Race as part of its centenary celebrations, being formed towards the end of the First World War on 1st April 1918. In recognition of the occasion, the race organisers decided that the team number is 100. The team comprises of four RAF officers: Squadron Leader Jamie Buckle, Squadron Leader Penny Grayson, Flight Lieutenant Charlie Butterfield and Flight Lieutenant Laura Frowen.

The Officers’ Association (OA) is sponsoring the team. The leading veterans’ charity supports the officer community to find new employment after leaving the Armed Forces, and provides financial support and advice to those in need.

Team captain, Jamie Buckle, said: “This is a momentous event, which will test our fitness, endurance and fortitude. We are excited to be part of this race, especially as part of the RAF 100 celebrations. A huge thank you to the OA for sponsoring the team.”
