Mablethorpe Central Promenade will become a hub of activity on Sunday 13th August thanks to the Poppies on the Prom event.
Set to raise money for The Royal British Legion’s Mablethorpe Poppy Appeal, the summer time event welcomes visitors to enjoy an array of entertainment throughout the day. This includes a Battle of Britain fly past, Second World War Bake Off, tug of war, beach games, military vehicles and much more.
Community Fundraiser for Lincolnshire, Nicholas Fairfax, said: “This event promises to be a great day out for all the family. It has something for everyone and even better – it’s on the beach – so fingers crossed the British sunshine will make an appearance as well!
“We are really excited to welcome people along and not only raise funds for the local appeal, but also raise awareness to the wider public about exactly what we do and what services we offer for the Armed Forces community. These include support and advice on financial matters, dementia care, handy vans, poppy breaks, employment and career information and even blast injury research. Our reach spreads far and wide for those who have been in service, their families and those currently serving.”
The event takes place from 11am onwards, with the highlight the Battle of Britain fly past that will provide an unforgettable sight.
