The Army Benevolent Fund is delighted to award a £13,783 grant to Recruit for Spouses Career Academy towards its coaching and mentoring programme for military spouses.
The Army Benevolent Fund helps soldiers and Army families obtain training, jobs and rewarding careers as a priority. The Career Academy delivers a variety of programmes and services for military spouses and the Armed Forces Community, to support employability and mental health and well-being. In 2022, Recruit for Spouses supported over 5,000 members of the Armed Forces Community.
Our grant will contribute to the core operating costs of the Career Academy, enabling them to invest more in helping beneficiaries develop their transferable skills so they can compete successfully for new jobs and careers.
Cerise Upham, Managing Director, Recruit for Spouses, said:
“We are thrilled to receive this grant from the Army Benevolent Fund, which will allow the Career Academy to expand our coaching and mentoring to even more Armed Forces spouses, enhancing employability and promoting mental health and wellbeing. We will be able to invest more hours in helping them develop their transferable skills and successfully apply for new jobs. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of many across the military community.”
Brigadier (Ret’d) Peter Monteith, Chief Operating Officer, Army Benevolent Fund, added:
“We fund several charities that specialise in employment-related coaching and training so that Army families can sustain and improve their livelihoods and financial circumstances. We are pleased to fund the Recruit for Spouses coaching and mentoring programme this year.”
