A team of Lincoln based serving RAF personnel will take on the city’s 10k run to raise funds for the RAF Benevolent Fund, the RAF’s leading welfare charity.
The team is made up of Cpl Nicholas Bunn, CT Gaz Brigden, AS1 Tech Will Mupfupi, AS1 Tech Akeim Willis, AS1 Rob Sandell and AS1 Bayley Sanderson.
Nicholas, 36, has been serving in the RAF for 15 years after joining in 2007.
Looking ahead to the run, on October 30, he said:
“I love living in Lincoln and wanted to push myself beyond my local Parkrun. I am looking forward to representing the RAF and RAF Benevolent Fund publicly at my local event and socialising post-run with a well-earned coffee and cake.”
Speaking about why he is supporting the RAF Benevolent Fund, he said:
“I have recently returned from an Operation Tour of Mali, Western Africa. Personal circumstances on my return resulted in me seeking the RAF Benevolent Fund’s counselling support. I appreciated the help and I wanted to give something back to the RAF Benevolent Fund.”
The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF’s leading welfare charity, providing practical, financial, and emotional support to RAF personnel, veterans, and their partners and dependants. If you know a member of the RAF Family in need, please go to rafbf.org to find out how the Fund could help.
