Ren Kapur, PPL Senior Advisor and CEO of X-Forces Enterprise, is appointed as PPL’s first Armed Forces Lead, further strengthening the social enterprise’s commitment to the Armed Forces community.
Over almost two decades, as part of a commitment to public service across the UK, PPL has been providing funding, mentoring and support to work with veterans, reservists, and military families, including as part of the Armed Forces Covenant.
To-date, PPL has donated over £50,000 to Armed Forces Charities.
As PPL expands the scope of its work, Ren brings a wealth of experience including as a serving Army Reservist and the CEO of a leading military not-for-profit organisation supporting enterprise and entrepreneurship.
Speaking about her new role, Ren Kapur MBE said:
‘I’m delighted to support PPL and work even more closely with its Joint CEO’s, Simon and Claire, who make such a difference in communities already. By embedding best practice and actively championing volunteering, veteran employment and enterprise, we can create sustainable and impactful opportunities for those who have or want to serve, their families and communities.’
Simon Morioka and Claire Kennedy, Co-Founders and Joint Chief Executives at PPL, said:
‘We’re thrilled Ren has taken on the role of PPL’s Armed Forces Lead. Ren brings deep expertise of building partnerships and of the sector, having supported the Armed Forces community for decades in a variety of high-profile roles. She will help PPL to ensure veterans, reservists and military families receive the recognition, support and career opportunities they deserve, and that our social impact funding in this area continues to deliver maximum impact.’
With this appointment, PPL reaffirms its dedication to being a key player in Armed Forces advocacy, with four key commitments:
- Attracting Talent: PPL is looking to develop its support for recruitment in the veteran community, including by offering a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for veterans.
- Workplace Support: On top of existing paid volunteering leave for reservists, PPL will be promoting Cadet Force Adult Volunteering, ensuring flexibility for military spouses, and support for service leavers transitioning into civilian roles.
- Military Community Engagement: PPL will continue to build its partnerships with organisations such as the Army Benevolent Fund, the Soldiering On Awards and X-Forces Enterprise, and the support and recognition they provide to the Armed Forces community.
- Advocacy and Awareness: PPL will amplify work of the Armed Forces community through social media campaigns, thought leadership, and supply chain advocacy, including promoting wider industry participation in the Armed Forces Covenant.
