Salary: £21,000 – £22,000 PA

Role Reports to: Fundraising Manager

Are you passionate about customer service, especially within the charity sector? Would you like to join a fantastic charity in a rewarding role within our Fundraising & Communications team? Would you like to be the first point of contact for our incredible fundraisers?

This is an exciting position reporting to our Fundraising Manager. You will be responsible for stewarding and developing our fundraising efforts and will be the first point of contact for the Fundraising and Communications team. This varied role will put you at the heart of our fundraising efforts, dealing with extraordinary people who have chosen to raise money for the charity. You will be an excellent relationship builder with an approachable and happy disposition. You will be representing the Charity at fundraising events and during online campaigns, helping to organise and administer. You will interact daily with our fundraising community, inspiring, and encouraging them to reach their fundraising targets, and thanking them when successful. The post is office based with some flexibility for home working, but will require travel to attend and steward events, as necessary.

We are looking for a confident and engaging Fundraising Officer who can:

  • Provide support on a range of administrative tasks including, dealing with enquires (postal, telephone, email, social media), opening and sorting post and managing collection boxes
  • Oversee the control and distribution of the charity’s fundraising and marketing assets and materials.
  • Support the Fundraising Manager to explore new opportunities and organise specific events
  • Engage with supporters fundraising through third party events

Key responsibilities: 

  • Be the cheerful and helpful first point of contact for all Fundraising enquiries.
  • Attend and support charity events as required.
  • Take ownership of all fundraising assets, including stock control to ensure materials are always available
  • Help to develop, manage and co-ordinate the community fundraising programme, providing support to individual fundraisers.
  • Inspire existing and potential fundraisers.
  • Ensure fundraising supporters have all the relevant information, materials and equipment needed for their event.
  • Ensure that community activity is communicated and passed for timely distribution across all media channels and for PR opportunities.
  • Responsible for keeping MS Dynamics information up to date, ensuring data accuracy, especially around income related to Community Fundraising events.
  • Assist Director of Fundraising & Communications and Office Administrator as required.

 Skills & Experience 

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, with a strong customer focus.
  • Excellent phone, email and face-to-face communication.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience of database management. MS Dynamics experience an advantage, but not essential.

  • Conscientious, flexible, and adaptable nature to integrate and contribute within a small team.
  • Willing to work outside of normal office hours as required to support events.
