Royal Naval Association holds historic Service outside Senned

On Sunday (16 July) The Royal Naval Association (RNA) paraded from the Wales Millenium Centre to the Senedd, where they held a spectacular Drum Head Service to mark their 2024 National Reunion.

The Service was attended by members of the RNA, local Sea Cadets, and the general public, who enjoyed the pomp of the RNA’s Standard Bearers, and the circumstance of Remembrance and celebration.

The Service was led by The Right Reverand John Lomas, Bishop of Swansea and Brecon, and Shipmate of the RNA:

“We remember before Almighty God all those who gave their lives for the defence and freedom of our land in the service of their fellow men and women.”

Both the English and Welsh National Anthem were sung, ringing out over the bay on a clear and bright morning.

Vice Admiral Duncan Potts CB, National President of the RNA said:

We have been blessed by an excellent National Reunion, and good weather too. Wales has been very kind to us.”

The RNA welcomes serving, veteran, families and friends of the Royal Navy. Through activities, branch meetings and a thriving online community, the Association promotes connection and comradeship. To find out more, including how to join for free, visit: royal-naval-association.co.uk
