Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) is pleased to announce a new grant award to Southampton Family Trust (SFT). Solid Foundations: Strengthening Families seeks to provide support to parents, helping them maintain strong, resilient relationships in the face of the unique challenges posed by life as a Royal Navy family.

The nature of Navy life can include prolonged separations and irregular routines which could contribute to higher levels of stress. For these families, maintaining robust relationships is crucial for safeguarding children’s well-being and ensuring a stable home environment.
Southampton Family Trust aims to support serving families through a series of courses and seminars which include: .
- Support for couples around strengthening communication and managing conflict
- Building Respectful Families Course (looking at aggressive or violent behaviour at home by children aged 8-12 years)
- Specific focussed support for parents of primary school-aged child with ADHD or showing traits of ADHD / Autism or traits of Autism.
Seminars include:
- An Introduction to Parenting Children with ADHD – Insights and Strategies for Families
- Co-Parenting While Divorced or Separated – Guidance, Support & Tools for Success
- Reducing Parenting Conflict with Your Ex-Partner – Guidance, Support & Tools for Success
- Different Parenting Styles? Working Together Better – Strategies for Parents
- An Introduction to Parenting Children with Autism – Insights and Strategies for Families
- Parenting During the Deployment Cycle – Resilient Families and the Deployment Cycle
- Resilient Families and the Deployment Cycle
- Parenting in the Navy – Thriving Through Work-Related Separations and Weekending
