Scotty’s 2024 Fundraising Ball Raises Record Funds

Scotty’s Little Soldiers, the charity dedicated to supporting bereaved British Forces children and young people, has raised a record-breaking £54,000 at its most successful annual ball to date.

Held at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth on 26 October, the dazzling event brought together over 300 guests for an unforgettable evening of fundraising and entertainment, all in support of children who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces.

Since 2012, Scotty’s annual ball has been a highlight of the charity’s fundraising calendar, combining glitz, glamour, and generosity. This year’s event featured a three-course meal, games, a raffle, and a charity auction, alongside live music from The Late Shift. Guests were welcomed in style by the London Fanfare Trumpets, while magician Max Bulter wowed the audience with his incredible tricks. Capturing the night’s magic was Beth Woods, a talented former Scotty Member who is now a photographer.

A standout moment of the evening came from a video message by Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham, a former SAS operator, best-selling author, and star of Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins. Billy issued a daring challenge to Scotty’s founder Nikki Scott: to skydive with him if the audience raised at least £1,000 on the night. Rising to the challenge, guests donated £1,625, and two attendees even secured bids to join the skydive, planned for next year.

Reflecting on the event, Nikki Scott said:

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity and support shown by everyone who attended. Raising £54,000 is incredible and will have such a positive impact on the lives of bereaved military children and young people. It was a truly special evening, and I’m so grateful to everyone who made it possible.”

Special thanks to the generous support of headline sponsors: Fortis Vision, OCS, JD2E, Design Vertex, and Empath Security Limited.
