Serving community team helps parents and kids connect

Recently 5 RIFLES, with the kind financial support of SSAFA, Salisbury Plain, held a service person’s family day out to Moors Valley Park.

The day was designed to give the service person some quality time with their children, including a paid ticket for ‘Go Ape’, whilst giving their partner a day without childcare responsibilities.

Lt Col Kempley MA Buchan-Smith said,

“It was so much fun, both for soldiers and their children, and a real treat for it to be subsidised during the cost of living crisis.”

The event was organised by the Unit Welfare Officer and sponsored by the Salisbury Plain Serving Community Team
