This week The Not Forgotten Association is hosting a skiing holiday in La Plagne, France for 14 injured veterans drawn from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The group includes four amputees and represents a wide range of Army Regiments and the RAF. Help for Heroes, Stoll and Blesma have all nominated guests, most of whom have not taken part in an NFA activity or event previously.
Head of Events Rosie Thompson, who is escorting the group, said: “This trip really does encapsulate the ethos of the NFA by bringing together veterans from different backgrounds, with a variety of injuries and a range of skiing abilities. Because they come from right across the UK, they probably would never have met each other, but everyone has got on superbly and is enjoying the camaraderie and challenge – things they badly miss from their service days. After the excitement and adrenaline of these few days they will go back home with renewed enthusiasm and a determination to deal with the challenges they face.”
