Skydive with the Red Devils for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity

Following last year’s success, the SSAFA Skydive with the British Army’s world-class parachute display team returns on 2 May in Wiltshire.

Experience the thrill of a lifetime with a tandem skydive for SSAFA. After jumping out of a plane at 13,000 feet, the next 40 seconds will be an exhilarating freefall with one of the Red Devils world-class tandem instructors. Once the parachute opens there will be several minutes to enjoy a birds-eye view of Netheravon and the surrounding countryside. Stonehenge can be spotted as well, weather permitting.

Frank Boulton, 83-year-old veteran who did last year’s skydive, has only positive things to say about the experience:

“The whole day was absolutely fantastic. I was a bit nervous going into it, but the support from SSAFA’s events team and encouragement from the Red Devils made me feel very comfortable.

“I’ve always wanted to do extraordinary things, and the SSAFA skydive fits that bill. The biggest selling point is the community aspect of the experience, getting to meet some great people also taking the leap. SSAFA did an awful lot for me in the past, and this was a way for me to give back and say thank you.”

Founded in 1964, the Red Devils – all serving members of the Parachute Regiment – showcase the immense capabilities of the Army’s paratroopers and regularly entertain crowds at air shows and other events. If you are looking for an adrenaline-filled adventure and an opportunity to raise funds to support the Armed Forces community, this is a surefire way to do so.

There is a limit of 16 stone or 102kg, and you must be over 16 years of age. There is no upper age limit. If you are under 18, you will need a parent or guardian to sign paperwork on the day.
