Flaminia is the Granddaughter of the late General Peter Martin CBE who founded the Spirit of Normandy Trust in 1994.
The Spirit of Normandy Trust was set up to perpetuate the memory of those who fought to preserve freedom in 1944. I came on board with the charity as a trustee in 2016 to continue my grandfather’s work in supporting the veterans.
The trust provides
- Welfare support for remaining veterans and their dependants, in liaison with SSAFA.
- Education for children, and appreciation of the general public, in the events leading up to the Normandy Landings and the historical significance of WW2.
