An excellent opportunity has arisen for a full-time Advanced Practitioner in the Personal Support and Social Work Service South Region at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.
About the role
This is a great opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated Qualified Social Worker to join our team and contribute to further development of the service.
Our Personal Support & Social Work Service (PS&SWS) RAF aims to provide a professional confidential and comprehensive range of Social Work and Welfare support services to the RAF Community within the UK.
You will have the opportunity to build on and develop your existing skills as an Advanced Practitioner in the Personal Support & Social work service. You will work closely with Station Commanding Officers and their Community Support staff, as well as Local Authorities, Health and other civilian agencies in relation to providing direct welfare support to all RAF personnel and their dependents. These may include, but not limited to, one to one support; advocacy; initial assessments and support plans; signposting and referrals to outside agencies. The role of Advanced Practitioner at RAF High Wycombe is an office-based isolated case worker post with the additional responsibility of providing advice and support to the wider Region.
Requirements
To carry out this role successfully you will have a Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent) and be registered with the HCPC or equivalent. You will also have demonstrable post-qualification experience of working within a statutory Adult and/or Children and Families setting and be skilled in completing thorough assessments to achieve successful outcomes. The ability to illustrate evidence of post qualification training/development is also essential, as well as good communication, organisational and IT skills. You must be prepared to travel within your course of work. A full driving licence is essential. The hours of work are from 8.30am to 5.00pm.
