A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Head of Volunteer Services in the Volunteer Operations department at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced senior manager to provide support to SSAFA’s volunteer network, consisting of branches, service committees and community volunteer groups, enabling them to provide a consistent and quality service to our beneficiaries. This role has particular responsibility for a Casework Management System (CMS), which is used not only by SSAFA’s 3,500 caseworking volunteers but also by a further 1,500 volunteers from other charities across the military sector. The role will also be responsible for project management in defining and developing the ‘complex needs’ as they apply to the SSAFA caseworking model, and providing recommendations for the development and implementation of ongoing support for the network in dealing with these cases.
Requirements
To carry out this role successfully you will have
- Experience of working with, and engaging, volunteers across a wide geographical area
- An understanding of data management, data protection (including GDPR), process mapping and user support.
- An experienced project manager, skilled in developing and delivering results and maintaining momentum and finding solutions to unexpected challenges.
- Experience of leading, managing and inspiring teams to achieve ambitious objectives and help individuals to develop their skills and realise their full potential
