SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is expanding our marketing team! We’re looking for a Marketing Officer to join our team working to help raise awareness and promoting understanding of SSAFA’s work through the charity’s portfolio of marketing activities, in particular supporting our large volunteer network.
About the role
Our brand is to be the focus of our organisational growth over the next five years. We need to ensure that our fundraising and service delivery departments, as well as our extensive volunteer network, are all provided with the required marketing support. Whether from the commercial or not-for-profit sector, you will be able to demonstrate good project management skills and a solid understanding of the different areas of the marketing mix. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll need to be an excellent communicator with a great eye for detail, a problem solver and multi-tasker as no two days are the same!
Requirements
To carry out this role successfully you will have:
- A proven ability to implement marketing activity that includes advertising, as well as the production of a variety of marketing collateral, materials and merchandise across a variety of channels.
- Experience of project-managing the production and delivery of a variety of marketing collateral, including working with designers, copywriters and managing external suppliers/freelancers. Project management also includes co-ordinating with key stakeholders for internal sign-offs and management of delivery timelines accordingly.
- Demonstrable ability to source and collate content and material, validate or verify statistics and data used. The role will include development and production of key corporate publications, updating of corresponding web pages and alignment of other online resources.
- Experience of working with networks or channel marketing activity, as the role will be day-to-day marketing communications contact for the SSAFA volunteer network and support their requests for personalised collateral, as needed. This includes management and maintenance of SSAFA’s new marketing hub, ensuring content is up to date and collateral/ merchandise stock is well managed by our suppliers.
