The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) is excited to launch its inaugural Trafalgar Night at Home event to help raise funds for sailors, marines, and the wider naval community.
Taking place between October 21 – October 31, the event invites supporters to bring one of the Royal Navy’s oldest and most prestigious traditions to their dining room. Commemorate Admiral Lord Nelson’s famous victory and pay tribute to the events that took place more than 200 years ago.
Trafalgar Night at Home is a chance to get together with friends and family for an evening to remember whilst making a real difference to sailors and marines all over the UK.
Participants who register for the event will receive an exclusive Trafalgar Night at Home pack which contains everything needed to host the event. The pack includes ‘England Expects’ bunting, a History of Trafalgar brochure, as well as a first look at Trafalgar Night recipe cards which will feature in the upcoming RNRMC cookbook.
In return for hosting a Trafalgar Night, participants are encouraged to ask guests to generously donate to the RNRMC. This funding will help tackle a wide range of issues that those who are serving or have served experience throughout their lives; from supporting those with financial and relationship difficulties to those affected by bereavement, injury or disability.
Bob Field, Fundraising and Merchandise Manager at RNRMC, said:
“The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is thrilled to present such an exciting event for the first time. I would like to encourage you to take part and have fun whilst helping us raise vital funds to support sailors, marines, and their families for life.
“Your generosity means we can continue to make a positive difference to the lives of those who serve or have served in the Royal Navy. With mental health issues, unemployment and feelings of isolation and loneliness soaring due to the pandemic, your support is needed now more than ever.”
The event is kindly sponsored by Pusser’s Rum.
