At a Board Meeting on 13 December 2022, Hans Pung officially stepped down as Chair of Forces in Mind Trust and formally handed over to incoming Chair, Jim Macleod.
Hans led the Forces in Mind Trust Board of Directors for six years. A statement from Tom McBarnet, Chief Executive of FiMT:
“The Board and Executive Team at Forces in Mind Trust would all like to extend our thanks to Hans as he steps down as Chair. Hans has led FiMT through a significant six years. His expertise, insight and level-headed leadership has been a huge asset for FiMT. During his tenure, Hans has overseen FiMT’s development into an impact-focused, sector-leading funder in a period of significant change. Hans also steered the organisation through the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, a change in Chief Executive, and a new strategic direction for the Trust. During this time, our small team has grown and successfully adopted remote working whilst continuing to support our grant-holders, and the wider sector. Hans also oversaw the establishment and development of the Forces in Mind Trust Research Centre, a significant investment for the Trust, which now provides an independent, accessible and reliable source of information for researchers and organisations across the world. His work at Forces in Mind Trust has meant we can more effectively support the Armed Forces Community and has immeasurably helped us to become a more effective organisation, so we can work to improve transition for Service personnel and their families in the UK.
“We are immensely grateful to Hans for his guidance over the last six years, and delighted to welcome Jim Macleod to the role. We look forward to working with Jim to build on the strong foundations Hans leaves behind.”
