New RAFAKidz nurseries at RAF Cosford, RAF Shawbury and MOD Boscombe Down will give military personnel access to high quality, trusted childcare.
RAFAKidz Cosford, Shawbury and Boscombe Down are now open, offering experiences for the children of serving military personnel, and those from the local community, that are special, unique and child-focused.
All the nurseries feature bespoke rooms tailored to cater to the specific needs of babies, toddlers, and pre-school aged children. Children will also have access to engaging and age-appropriate outdoor space where they can explore and play.
Nicky Davis, Director of Operations at RAFAKidz, said: “Our closes ties to the RAF community mean that we understand how important it is for serving RAF families to have access to high quality childcare. We have responded to this need over the years with the opening of our RAFAKidz nurseries across the country. These new nurseries will provide even more families with a supportive and nurturing environment where their children can grow, learn and flourish.”
The new nurseries join 11 existing RAFAKidz nurseries across the country, designed to meet the needs of military and civilian families in the community on and around RAF stations, providing affordable and quality childcare.
This year, the RAF Association is celebrating the five-year anniversary of RAFAKidz. The Association created RAFAKidz in 2019 to help the RAF overcome a wide range of childcare issues that were impacting negatively on the serving RAF community.
The RAFAKidz story began with the opening of RAFAKidz Odiham in 2019. Cranwell and Digby opened in 2020, followed by Leeming in 2021 and Brize Norton in 2022. Three sites at RAF High Wycombe – High Wycombe, Medmenham and Walter’s Ash – opened in 2023, along with Boulmer, Worthy Down. Abbey Wood opened earlier this year.
