Royal British Legion Industries’ LifeWorks programme is a series of successful employment support courses designed to help unemployed Armed Forces Veterans into work. It is available to any Veteran, of any rank and from any background, regardless of how long ago they served. It aims to help them gain sustained employment and rebuild their lives following their service by giving them the enhanced CV and interview skills needed for finding work in civilian life. Those who attend a course will receive 12 months of remote ‘reachback’ support to help them with their job search.
Of the Veterans who have attended LifeWorks courses, 83% find sustained employment, training or volunteering positions within 12 months. This is especially impressive considering 80% of participants suffer with a disability, health or mental health condition.
“I have to thank LifeWorks – if it wasn’t for them, I have no idea where I’d be right now.” – Paul Harding speaking at LW Wales launch, Cardiff. After completing the LifeWorks course, Paul secured employment as a Maintenance Engineer.
