The Armed Forces Outreach Service were delighted to receive news that the Veterans Foundation would be awarding a grant to assist the service with running costs.
Operating across Gateshead, Newcastle and Durham, our local authority partnership has supported 1927 members of the Armed Forces Community since April 2018, although we have been operating since 2012.
As a regional service we ensure a single dedicated local authority service across a wide geographical area offering a single point of contact to access key public services such as housing, benefits, debts for the Armed Forces Community. Through our partnership work we ensure there isn’t a gap of provision between service charities and local authorities.
The Veterans Foundation have recognised the work and contribution AFOS make to the Armed Forces Community and have provided key funding to ensure we can continue supporting members of the Armed Forces Community across the region.
