Veterans’ Foundation hosts gala for partners and charities

The Veterans’ Foundation held a gala celebration to thank corporate partners for their generous fundraising initiatives and to enable charities to showcase how their VF grants have helped the armed forces community.

Among them were representatives from youth bereavement charity, Scotty’s Little Soldiers, and The Stoll Foundation, The Poppy Factory and Supporting Wounded Veterans.

The Military Wives Choirs entertained guests during the interval and received a standing ovation. The Choirs’ CEO, Wendy Human, also spoke about the companionship and camaraderie the organisation helps foster and what it means to the women to participate.

The event was held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, the iconic home of distinguished army veterans known as the Chelsea Pensioners.

Alistair Halliday, CEO of Forces Employment Charity, said:

“It was good to see many of the direct recipients of VF work. All very moving and I enjoyed the evening immensely.”

While Mike Potts, Senior Learning & Development Partner, at NTT Data, said:

“It was also great to hear the Military Wives choir whilst visiting the Royal Hospital Chelsea, which was a fantastic venue.”

Veterans Coordinator, Martin Beaney, from Supporting Wounded Veterans, said:

“SWV would like to thank the VF for inviting us and giving us a platform to let others know how VF grants allow us to do the work we do.”

Todd Ledworth of BlackRock, said:

“We were amazed to hear about the scale of impact the Veterans’ Foundation has on military charities.”

Veterans’ Foundation Partnership and Fundraising Manager, Sarah Elliott, said: “We were delighted to be able to welcome and thank our partners and hear from the charities in a venue that continues to support veterans.

“It is always a great source of inspiration and pride to hear first-hand the work charities do with our support.”
