Veterans receive Covid booster jabs at Solihull care home

Residents at Royal Star & Garter in Solihull have received their Covid booster jabs.

All 58 residents were given the Pfizer injection by healthcare professionals at the Tudor Coppice Home on Wednesday 29 September. They also received their flu vaccine jabs at the same time.

Forty-five members of staff also qualified to have their booster jab six months on from the last dose, with this figure expected to rise in the near future.

Royal Star & Garter provides loving, compassionate care to veterans and their partners living with disability or dementia.

Resident Margaret:

“I’m very happy to have the booster. It’s another level of protection. Things are slowly returning to normal here with visits and outings, and it’s lovely.”

Home Manager Cheryl Harbourne said:

“The residents are keen to protect themselves, and they were all pleased to have the booster jab. I’m delighted they’ve had it, and I’m proud so many staff received their boosters too. It’s another step forward in our fight against Covid.”
