Location: This role will be remote with occasional travel to WWTW’s Hubs in the North-East, Manchester and Norfolk.
Salary: £30,000-£35,000
Hours: 37.5 (e.g. 9 – 5 with half hour unpaid break)

Job Purpose
This newly created role will focus on filling Walking With The Wounded’s events, encompassing both our headline events, where they will support the Events Manager and 3rd party events, where they will work with the Stewardship Officer. They will also work closely with both colleagues on scoping and developing new events, especially in the area of e-sports.
WWTW has an ambitious target to grow our events to £1m within two years and this role is vital to that endeavour. We have a proud record of putting on events that challenge our participants to their limits and that culture is embedded in our bespoke programme. For our headline events, particularly the Cumbrian Challenge, we have scope and a very solid platform for growth and the postholder will work quickly with the Relationships team on securing long term support for this.
They will also work with our Stewardship Officer and Marketing team to help populate our rapidly expanding portfolio of third-party events. Through a combination of organic and paid social, engaging with new audiences, and mining our existing database and relationships, the Acquisition Officer will be jointly responsible for maximising revenue from these activities.
This role will also support the Events Manager and wider team in the delivery and promotion of all WWTW fundraising events, as and when required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
This role is integral to the Events team. You will work closely with other teams to maximise our audience size and promote our events externally. You will also contribute to the smooth operation of the events department, ensuring all events are run in a safe, streamlined, and efficient manner. Thinking creatively and suggesting ways of keeping our events marketing interesting, relevant, and engaging will be fundamental to this role.
The successful candidate will help drive the portfolio to £1m/annum gross income, ensuring all events meet the 5 strategic aims of the department:
- All events will aim to deliver ROI of three to one, with two to one as a floor
- Deliver unique, financially successful, and sustainable events that are ‘best in class’
- Events available that cater to all different event demographics
- All events must operate on a clear and communicable vision
- All events will operate with a sustainable footprint and be guided by responsible environmental principles
