The Taxi Charity wish to join with everyone from around the world in sending our thoughts and best wishes to the family and friends of “Forces Sweetheart” and our charity patron Dame Vera Lynn who died earlier today.
Dame Vera was an incredible Patron, offering endless support to raise funds for the charity which provides international and UK visits and day trips for military veterans from all conflicts.
Ian Parsons, Chairman, Taxi Charity for Military Veterans, said,
“We are honoured that Dame Vera Lynn was a dedicated Taxi Charity Patron for over 70 years. Who else could have represented the charity so well but the forces sweetheart herself. She will be sorely missed by everyone at the charity and especially all our amazing veterans who held her in such high regard for all she did to lift their spirits throughout the war years.”
